Weddings

WEDDING PACKAGE $5000 and includes the following:

YOUR CELEBRANT:
You will be married by the owner of the Motel Ed Lyman who is a bit of a character and funny guy but who is committed to making your special day memorable for you and your guests. You are welcome to write your own vows and to instruct him on what you require it is very much anything goes.

THE CEREMONY:
Weather permitting you will be married under the trees in front of rooms 1 – 5 with green paddocks behind you as far as the eye can see and surrounded by lawn and garden. Our wedding arch will be decorated in your wedding colours to make it the centrepiece of your wedding and we will ensure that there are ample chairs for all of your guests to be comfortable. We advise a 4 pm wedding start.

THE WEDDING CAKE:
A large one tier cake in the flavour/s of your choice and decorated in your wedding colours. The wedding cake will be cut up at the end of the night and served with chocolate éclairs for dessert. The cake knife and plates supplied.

ACCOMMODATION:
Your wedding package includes accommodation for 20 guests. We can accommodate more (please ask us) but a $20 per person price will incur. If your guests wish to stay an extra night then our normal room rates will apply.

THE BRIDE AND GROOM:

The bride and groom will enjoy our Romance Suite with its comfy new bed floor to ceiling headboard and large sunny deck. The Bride will be pampered on her special day with a trip to the beauty salon for a relaxing facial and massage followed by hair and makeup at Hermanas Hair Salon in Waipapa.

Tracey Herselman from Hermanas is an awarding winning hairdresser and can do anything that you desire. Waiting for the bride and groom in your room will be a bottle of bubbly to enjoy and to help you relax while you are getting ready.

The groom may like to go for a game of golf while the bride gets ready and there are plenty of very good golf courses around including Waitangi one of the most beautiful courses in the country.

THE MOTEL:
The Motel built in the 70's has been well maintained over the years with the rooms only recently being re decorated and bought into this century. On 6 acres the property boasts many lovely spots for photos including flower gardens, river settings, green pasture and manicured lawns. With our swimming pool spa and all number of indoor and outdoor games available we have everything your guests will need to keep them amused while they are here.

FOOD:
Your guests will be treated to Hors d'oeuvres soon after the ceremony with a meat station being set up a few hours later. The meat station will consist of a succulent ham on the bone along with a whole cooked rump fresh buns salad with pickles chutneys and sauces on the side. The meat station is self service which eliminates the need for a fussy sit down meal. We will supply glasses plates napkins and utensils along with tables tablecloths and serving dishes.

MUSIC:
Music will be provided by way of an iPod docking station and CD player with speakers on the deck. You can bring your own music and room 3 (party central) has a huge deck which is perfect for dancing speeches and food service. Of course if you would like something slightly more elegant/groovy we can organise a band or jukebox for you.
